Rare and unique 1920s Egyptian Revival
drawstring box
purse featuring a white crushed velvet top and a white leather
bottom.
The leather is embossed in gold with a repeating pattern of 3 Egyptian
(female) figures all the way around. Overall size is about 6-1/2"
x 4" x 7" high, with the leather band being approximately 2-1/4"
wide.
The gold braid trim was added by a shoemaker to cover some rather
unsightly
old glue. There is some very minor soiling on the fabric,
however,
I would rate the overall vintage condition as very good, and very
wearable!

Very cool & unusual 4-1/4" x 2-1/2" x 1"
gold-plated
necessaire compact complete with black silk faille carrying case.
The case has a 9-1/2" handle and a rear pocket with 2 compartments and
a made-to-measure comb. The metal compact itself has a gorgeous
palm
motif on the front (contrasting shiny & matte finish) and opens to
reveal a large mirror, lipstick holder and 2 compartments - one for
powder,
the other for a puff (the puff is in two pieces which need to be glued
or stitched together). There are some small pitt marks on the
gold
plating - noticeable when the compact is out of its carrying case, but
not serious. I think this unique piece is circa 1950s, and I
would
rate the overall condition as very good. Stamped Elgin American
Made
in USA.

| SUPER 'SATIN & VELVET' BOX PURSE | |||

Great oval shaped box purse measuring 7-1/4"
high x
6" wide x 3" deep. The tag inside reads 100% Polyester (China)
but
it looks like black velvet adorned with black satin ribbon and a huge
charcoal
colored silky bow. 13" handle, secure snap closure, unworn
condition.

Absolutely gorgeous beaded bag
with multi-colored
glass seed beads in an elablorate pattern of cascading roses, spiral
ribboned
columns and what looks like a giant butterfly to me. The pattern
repeats on the back. Green silk lining with a small pocket that needs a
couple of stitches at the top. The frame is aged silver, marked
Germany,
and does show some signs of wear (mostly inside the frame). There
are a three or four small spots where a few beads are missing -- but
they
are barely noticeable. I believe there may be a couple of fringe
strands missing as well, but no major gaps or cause for concern.
Dimensions: 7-1/2" long, not including 2-1/2" fringe ... 7" wide
... and a 17" fine silver chain handle. The outside of the frame
has a heavy patina which I have left intact. I
recently
spotted a slightly larger version of this purse on a high-profile
website
for $950!

| ITALIAN LEATHER EVENING BAG | ||||

Very chic contemporary bag that is either new
or newer,
and in unused condition. The hinged, gold-plated bag
measures
4" x 4-1/4" and is about 1-1/4" deep. Secure snap closure
with
a large gold-plated rhinestone ball at the top. Front and back
are
both covered with white leather (the hang tag reads "Genuine Italian
Leather").
Black velvet-like lining with a "Made in China" tag. Very nice
45"
gold-plated chain handle to wear over the shoulder.

8" long x 5" wide with a wonderful combination
of red,
blue, green and gold seed beads hand-sewn onto a black woven
fabric.
The bottom section is all cobalt blue beads and gold colored threads.
Colorful
2" tassel at the bottom. Black lace top with drawstring
closure.
Lining is a semi-sheer fabric in black. Near perfect
condition.

| VINTAGE LUCITE BOX PURSE - TLC | ||||

Tortoise colored lucite box base with a clear,
cross-cut
hinged lid and 15" brown plastic swivel handles. The bottom part
of the acrylic closure has broken off so the lid simply 'rests' on the
top of the box. A bit of velcro (or ?) might fix it right up, if
you are the creative, handy type! Actually, it works & looks just
fine
as is. The purse measures 9" long x 4-1/4" high x 5" deep.
The inside bottom looks like someone may have used acetone to remove a
label. Otherwise, no chips, cracks, scratches or
repairs.
Price reflects the broken clasp.
